R. Eric Roth, Psy.D.
Co-Owner | Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Roth moved to East Tennessee in 1997 following completion of a specialty neuropsychology internship at the Westside VA in Chicago and his postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology and rehabilitation psychology at the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan. He developed the psychology and neuropsychology inpatient consultative services for the James H. and Cecile C. Quillen Rehabilitation Hospital and other hospital facilities in the region. In 2002 he and his wife, Leah, opened Roth Neuropsychology and Behavioral Health Associates for the purpose of providing a wider range of psychology and neuropsychology services to the region. Dr. Roth remains in his role as Director of Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology services at Encompass Health Quillen Rehabilitation Hospital in addition to his outpatient clinical and forensic neuropsychology consultation services. In addition to clinic services, Dr. Roth is often a speaker for community service organizations and professional groups. He is published in the areas of geriatric and pediatric neuropsychology and has worked closely with the Crumley House Rehabilitation Center and East Tennessee State University in providing an annual brain injury rehabilitation conference.
Leah Roth, LCSW
Co-Owner | Clinical Social Worker | Therapist
Leah grew up in the Chicago suburbs. She acquired her BA, with a major in Psychology from Eastern Illinois University. She went on to get her Master’s in Clinical Social Work from the University of Illinois. In the early portion of her career she provided clinical case management and therapy to children and families in community mental health settings, and foster care agencies. In 2003 she joined her husband in opening Roth Neuropsychology. She provides psychotherapy to individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, and family conflict. Her training was heavily influenced by Family Systems approach to therapy, but over the years she incorporated Cognitive Behavioral Therapy into her practice.
Becky Ramey, SLPE, LPC
Psychometrist
Becky has been our psychometrist for the past 20 years. She is a native of Johnson City, obtaining her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Carson-Newman College and later a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from East Tennessee State University. Prior to coming to Roth Neuropsychology, she worked at inpatient psychiatric facilities, as an outpatient mental health case manager, and conducted psychological evaluations. In all, she brings nearly 34 years of experience to our organization.
Joseph Neumann, Ph.D.
Staff Psychologist | Christian Therapist
Dr. Neumann is a graduate of University of Maryland, College Park and the University of Idaho at Moscow, later obtaining his PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Missouri, Columbia. He later completed certification in Biblical Counseling from the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors and Healthcare. Dr. Neumann also obtained a certificate in Healthcare Management from East Tennessee State University. He retired from the VA Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee. He also retired from the State of Tennessee having been involved in providing behavioral health services for developmentally delayed adults as well as work in the child welfare system. Dr. Neumann has published more than 60 research articles and has a long history of offering professional presentations. He is a member of the Tennessee Psychological Association. Since joining Roth Neuropsychology and Behavioral Health Associates, Dr. Neumann has provided clinical psychological services to rehabilitation patient’s has trained extensively in the area of sleep medicine, and also conducts behavioral health evaluations pertaining to pain management and bariatric surgeries.
Jennifer Braswell
Office Manager
Jennifer has been with Roth Neuropsychology for nearly 10 years, bringing with her 15 years of medical office experience as a receptionist, referral coordinator, and patient account representative. Jennifer coordinates referrals, scheduling, authorizations, and billing. She is an expert in addressing all matters related to insurance as well as Roth Neuropsychology policies and procedures.
