In 1997, Dr. Roth was recruited to East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry in order to direct the development of a neuropsychology consultation service for Johnson City Medical Center and the James H. and Cecile C. Quillen Rehabilitation Hospital.  Later, services were expanded to include outpatient psychological and neuropsychological assessments.

In 2002, Roth Neuropsychology and Behavioral Health Associates was established with consultative services provided in various regional medical centers, Quillen Rehabilitation Hospital, hospital-based skilled nursing units, and a geriatric psychiatry unit.  Expanded outpatient neuropsychological and psychological assessments, along with outpatient mental health counseling was also provided.  Since 2006, these outpatient services have been provided at our current clinic setting in Perimeter Plaza in the Med Tech area along Knob Creek Road in Johnson City.

Over the years, we’ve been able to develop a highly experienced and committed team of clinicians and business office personnel with more than 100 years of combined experience. We are proud that we have been in a position to have helped tens of thousands of people in our community navigate through the challenges of dementia, stroke, brain injury, multiple trauma, amputation, various other medical and mental health concerns.

All psychological, Neuropsychological, and pre-surgical evaluations require a referral from a physician.  This can be your primary doctor, neurologist, pain clinic physician, surgeon, or psychiatrist.  Once we have the referral, we will call you to begin the scheduling process.

Psychotherapy referrals can come from a physician, nurse practitioner, or your insurance.  You can also call our office directly.  We begin with a short interview over the phone to help make sure we are a good fit for your needs.  Once this step is completed an initial interview will be scheduled.  In this interview we will further discuss your concerns, history and set therapeutic goals.

Referral can be faxed to 423-952-0005
